The world has a lot to offer, and history is one of its most fascinating aspects to explore. It is through history that we get to know our fellow humans and their struggles, triumphs, contributions and achievements.For that reason alone we will share 10 historical places you should visit!

1. Machu Picchu, Peru

The Incan ruins are located in the town of Machu Picchu, Peru. It was built by the Incas and it was abandoned when the Spanish conquered Peru in 1533. These ruins are one of the greatest attractions for tourists visiting Peru.

The ruins are considered to be one of the most important archaeological sites in South America. There are only about 30 buildings left on this site which were built by the Inca people around 1500 AD. Some of these buildings have been restored while others remain as they were when they were abandoned by their builders centuries ago.

Machu Picchu is said to be an urban center that was inhabited by more than 500 residents at its peak, but now there are only about 40 people living here because most people who lived here moved away after being conquered by Spanish conquistadors centuries ago.

2. Stonehenge, England

It's located in England, and it has been there for a very long time. The reason we think it's a great place to visit is because it has such a big history behind it.

Stonehenge was built by the ancient people of Britain. They were Druids who lived in the area before the Romans came over to conquer them. You can see the stones today, but they've been moved many times throughout history—sometimes they were moved so they could be used as building materials, and sometimes they were moved because people wanted them closer to their homes or churches.

The reason we think this is such an important place is because Stonehenge is one of only two sites in the world where you can see wooden structures from Neolithic times standing next to stone ones! The other site is at Knap Hill, Suffolk County, England. However, Stonehenge was built before Knap Hill was constructed!

3. The Great Wall of China

If you are a history buff. This wonder of the world was built to protect China from foreign invaders. The wall stretches across the country and it has its own unique design. It was built with different materials like stone and bricks. There are many legends behind the building of this wall. Some say that it is built by Chinese emperors as a defense against enemies while others say it was built by warriors who fought during battles with other countries.

There are many places to see inside this wall including temples and palaces that were built during different periods in history. You can also see forts and towers at different locations along the wall where people lived during those times. You cannot only visit this place but also learn about its history from experts who will be happy to share their knowledge with you about what happened in this place over time!

4. The Great Pyramids at Giza, Egypt

It is the largest pyramid in the world and it dominates the landscape of this ancient land. The Great Pyramid is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. This pyramid was constructed as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu, who reigned over Egypt from 2589 BC until 2566 BC.

The Great Pyramid has an outer casing of polished limestone blocks that weigh over 2 million tons. The pyramid's base is covered with around 2 million tons of stone that make up the pyramid's outer layer or casing stones, which are laid in fine horizontal layers. The core consists of granite blocks that were brought to Giza from Aswan by boat, which were then hoisted into place using wooden beams and rollers before being filled with sandstone for stability.

5. Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris

It is a Gothic cathedral and it is located in the heart of Paris, France. It was completed in 1260 and it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1984.

The cathedral has a lot of interesting things that make it worth visiting. First of all, it is one of the oldest buildings in Paris which is why it has been preserved so well. There are also some amazing stained glass windows that are still intact despite the fact that they have been broken many times over the years because they were too heavy to carry away from the site.

In addition,Notre Dame Cathedral has more than 1,000 statues of saints and kings with different sizes and shapes ranging from 5 inches to 7 feet tall each one representing something important about their subjects lives before they were canonized as saints by other people who had done research on those subjects' lives before deciding what type of statues should be made for them so that people would know about them without having to ask anyone else about them first which might take too long if everyone started doing this at once instead of just doing

6. The Colosseum in Rome, Italy

It is one of the greatest architectural wonders ever built. The structure was built in 72 AD by Emperor Vespasian and Emperor Titus, and completed under the rule of Claudius. The Colosseum was regarded as one of the greatest monuments in all of Roman civilization.

The Colosseum is a large amphitheater located in Rome, Italy. It was built by Emperor Vespasian and his son Titus during the reign of Emperor Claudius in AD 70-72. It was used for gladiator contests and other forms of entertainment up until it was converted into a Christian church following the Siege of Rome by Alaric I in 410 AD. 

It was partially reconstructed by Pope Sixtus IV during 1481-1486 AD but not fully restored until 1874-1879 AD when Pope Pius IX commissioned a cleaning process that lasted for 30 years until it reopened to visitors on 29 April 1880 AD after an extensive restoration process lasting six years costing nearly half a million dollars per year on average due to its age at this point (currently estimated at 500 years old).

7. Pompeii, Italy

It is located in the Mediterranean region of Italy. This city has many attractions that make it unique from other cities and countries in the world. Some of these attractions include its architecture and architecture, natural environment and climate, history, and art.

The first attraction that comes to mind when thinking about Pompeii is its architecture. The buildings of Pompeii are made up of volcanic ash, which gives them a unique look. The buildings were made out of stone and concrete, which was used throughout Europe around this time period. 

In addition to being built out of volcanic ash and stone, many of the buildings were also made out of lime mortar or cement. The natural environment in Pompeii is also something you should consider when deciding where to go on vacation this year: it's a beautiful place with lots of amazing things to see! 

For example, there are many hot springs located around the city where people would come for relaxation or healing purposes during their time here (which brings us back full circle to our point about history). There

8. The Acropolis in Athens, Greece

The Acropolis in Athens, Greece is a historical place you should visit. It is located at the top of the hill and has been around for thousands of years. The city of Athens is considered to be one of the most important cities in Europe because it has many important historical places to see. 

The Acropolis was built on top of a hill with many buildings on top of each other making it hard to climb up there. The first thing that you will notice when you walk up to the Acropolis is that it has stairs all around it instead of one big staircase like most other buildings have today. 

You will also notice that there are several statues on top of each other which makes it look like an ancient city from long ago. There are about eight different buildings on top of each other including temples, theatres and other buildings designed for people who lived there back then! Many people believe that this place was built around 500 BC by Myronides who was a ruler in ancient Greece (Hutchins).

9. The Temple of Karnak in Luxor, Egypt

The Temple of Karnak, also known as the Luxor Temple and the Karnak Temple, is one of the most famous temples in ancient Egypt. It's located at Karnak and was built by Amenhotep III, who ruled from 1372 BC to 1336 BC. The temple was dedicated to the god Amun-Re, and it had a long history before it became the site of a major Egyptian festival.

The temple complex was originally built in honor of Amun-Re by Thutmose III in 1478 BC. The first part of this temple included two large pylons that supported a great statue of Amun-Re—a structure that would later become known as “Amun's Colonnade.” The second part of the temple included a series of chapels dedicated to other Egyptian deities: Mut, Khonsu, Wosret (Osiris), Sobek, Anubis, Ptah, and Hathor.

In 1580 BC Amenhotep IV began construction on an entirely new section for his son Akhenaten—this time adding statues of him and his wife Nefertiti plus other royal couples like Meritaten and Merytaten to create an entire new worship room for Amun-Re.

10. The Taj Mahal in Agra, India

The Taj Mahal is a beautiful, awe-inspiring monument that stands as one of the most recognizable landmarks in India. Located in Agra, this incredible structure is an architectural marvel that was built by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

IN fact, The Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and has been called one of the greatest works of art ever created. The interior of the building is decorated with marble and precious stones from all over Asia, including lapis lazuli, malachite, jasper, spinel and agate. The tomb itself is surrounded by beautiful gardens that have been carefully planned out to make them feel natural and alive.

It is believed that Shah Jahan had planned on constructing a mosque at this location but it wasn't completed until after his death. He wanted this mausoleum to be as beautiful as possible so he spent years planning everything down to how many steps there would be between each room within its walls!
