The 13 Best Motorcycle Jackets for All-Season Riding
Motorcycle jackets have two very important functions — to protect you in an accident and shield you from the elements.
If you want to ride your bike throughout the year, go on a round-the-world adventure, or at least prolong the riding season as much as possible, you should look into all-season riding gear.
We’ve listed 13 all-season motorcycle jackets, some cheap, others ridiculously expensive, but they’ve all received excellent reviews from owners.
Sedici Avventura Waterproof Jacket — $280
The Sedici Avventura is the perfect companion on longer rides. It’s waterproof, has eight vents, a ventilated built-in liner, and removable waterproof and quilted liners. For the price, it’s hard to beat that kind of customizable climate control and comfort.
The Avventura’s outer shell is made from abrasion-resistant 450D Oxford fabric, and it has CE Level 2-approved armor at the shoulders and elbows.
Scorpion EXO Yosemite Jacket — $400
The Scorpion Yosemite jacket is a versatile jacket for the money. On cool days, it can be used as a windproof textile jacket, and on hot days, you can maximize airflow by folding down the windproof panels on the chest and back and opening the full-length arm vents and side torso vents.
There’s also a removable Airguard waterproof liner that keeps you dry on wet days. If you have an accident, there’s Sas-Tec armor at the shoulders and elbows to absorb the impact. It also comes with a back pad pocket with PE foam that can be upgraded to a Sas-Tec Level 2 CE-certified back protector.
Alpinestars Ardent 3 In 1 Adventure Touring Jacket — $430
The Alpinestars Ardent 3 in 1 Adventure Touring jacket is designed specifically for adventures that touring riders have in the United States and has a relaxed, fully adjustable fit. It’s a sturdy, modular adventure jacket for all seasons, offering ventilation, waterproofing, and thermal liner warmth — perfect for riding in different climates or during all seasons.
It’s made from several durable materials, including 300D ripstop polyfabric, and textured 1000D poly. It’s been reinforced internally with 600D polyfabric, and there’s Nucleon Flex Pro CE Level 2 armor for impact absorption.
Alpinestars Bogota Pro Drystar Jacket — $430
Alpinestars is another big name in the riding gear market. They make everything from lightweight summer riding gear to MotoGP leather and adventure gear. The Bogota Pro Drystar falls into the last category, and it’s engineered to “deliver optimal protection and weather performance for ideal comfort.”
Alpinestars uses its Drystar membrane along with DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment, making the Bogota Pro 100% waterproof and breathable. It also features plenty of ventilation and CE Level 2 Nucleon Flex Pro shoulder and elbow armor.
Motonation Pursang Tourventure Jacket — $180
The Motonation Pursang is a bargain that offers everything you need. It even looks like a proper round-the-world adventure jacket! For impact protection, Motonation has chosen removable high-impact CE-approved dual-density protective armor on the elbows and shoulders, as well as an 8 mm thick memory foam back pad.
The Pursang comes with both a removable thermal liner and a removable Reissa waterproof liner, so you can keep riding regardless of the weather. They’ve also used Neoprene in the cuffs and collar for added comfort.
Sedici Matteo Waterproof Jacket — $200
The Sedici Matteo is a feature-packed all-season motorcycle jacket that’s hard to beat for the price. It uses CE 2 armor on the shoulders and elbows to protect you in an impact, has reflective details for increased visibility, and is made from abrasion-resistant materials.
It also has a zip-out, fully waterproof and breathable liner, a vent system for improved temperature control, and various pockets with waterproof lining for storing your phone and other items.
REV'IT! Sand 4 H2O Jacket — $530
The REV’IT Sand 4 H2O is much less bulky than most adventure jackets, but this lineup of riding gear has proven itself capable of handling long overland motorcycle adventures. Its lightweight design is a breath of fresh air since most ADV jackets are fairly heavy.
It uses an abrasion-resistant polyester ripstop shell with many ventilation panels. The shoulders and elbows have ventilated Seeflex CE Level 2 impact armor, but back and chest protectors are sold separately.
Klim Latitude Jacket — $699
Klim is a big name in the world of adventure motorcycling gear, and their Latitude jacket uses the same proven formula as the rest of their clothing.
Here, you’ll find a versatile Gore-Tex 2-Layer Performance shell that’s both waterproof and breathable. Thanks to the heavy-duty 840D Cordura bolster high abrasion and wear zones, you’ll be able to wear the Latitude jacket for multiple seasons. It also uses CE level 1 D3O armor at the elbows, shoulders, and back for impact protection.
REV'IT! Defender 3 Gore-Tex Jacket — $900
Another REV’IT jacket that’ll protect you from all weather conditions you may encounter on your bike! The Defender 3 GTX features a durable 750D PWR Shell with added ripstop fabric. There’s no doubt that it’ll endure the abuse of an overland adventure.
It uses a detachable 3-layer Gore-Tex waterproof liner and a detachable thermal liner. VCS ventilation panels and multiple zippered vents maximize airflow on hot days. If you fall off the bike, the SEEFLEX CE level 2 body armor on the shoulders and elbows helps absorb the impact.
REV'IT Poseidon 2 Gore-Tex Jacket — $949
The REV'IT Poseidon 2 GTX jacket is a new and improved version that’s lighter and more flexible than its predecessor due to the use of 400D textile rather than the stiffer and heavier 600D.
It still offers excellent abrasion resistance, and with a 3-layer Gore-Tex membrane, the Poseidon 2 is both waterproof and breathable. REV’IT chose Seeflex CE level 2 armor at the elbows and shoulders for impact protection. It also has a detachable storm collar, a waterproof stash pocket, and lots of other conveniences.
Klim Badlands Pro Jacket — $1,200
Another Klim product, but the Badlands Pro jacket is nearly double the price of the Latitude. This is a rugged all-season jacket made for experienced adventure riders.
The Badlands Pro jacket is jam-packed with breathable and abrasion-resistant materials, and it comes with CE Level 2 shoulder, elbow, and back protection. There’s even a kidney belt! It’s not cheap, but if you’re serious about your motorcycle adventures, the Badlands Pro is one of the best jackets on the market.
REV'IT Dominator 3 Gore-Tex Jacket — $1,500
Our last REV’IT jacket on this list, the Dominator 3 GTX, is built using feedback from round-the-world adventure riders and off-road experts, so you know it’s a good one.
Its features and quality are also reflected in the rather steep price tag, but $1,500 gets you some of the highest-end gear out there. It uses a 3-layer Gore-Tex Pro breathable laminate with VCS Aquadefence panels and VCS zipper vents for waterproofing and airflow. There’s extra abrasion resistance built into the shoulders, and it comes with award-winning SEEFLEX CE level 2 armor in the shoulders, elbows, and back.
