The weather is getting cooler and I am starting to turn to home-cooked comfort food to welcome the fall weather. Today, I'm making a creamy homecooked meal with the help of RAGÚ Cheese Creations Classic Alfredo Pasta Sauce. Who doesn't love walking in the front door and have the aroma of creamy alfredo wafting in the air? I love the crisp fall weather because it makes me bring out my delicious creamy comfort food recipes
Usually, on Sunday morning I'll start pulling recipes for the week. I'll look at the family schedule, see what types of activities and commitments we have going on and then pick recipes that will work well with what we have going on. Once I have my recipes pulled, I make a grocery list. I write down everything I'll need for the recipes as well as what we need for the house and I'll take a quick look in the pantry to see if we are running low on anything. Once my list is complete I start to get ready to head to our local Publix to grocery shop.
But before I head out to my local Publix, I check out the weekly deal page. It's full of BOGO (buy one get one) offers! This week (from 10/5-10/11/2017) Ragu is part of the BOGO! It's a perfect time to stock up on Ragu pasta sauces, plus you'll need a family size of the alfredo sauce for my recipe. I always keep a few jars of Ragu on hand because they are so versatile. I can take a jar of sauce, some chicken, turkey or beef, add in some vegetables and have a family dinner in a few minutes!
However, today my mission is to bring home everything we need to make my Creamy Ragu Alfredo Pierogi with Broccoli dish.
To recreate my delicious Creamy Ragu Alfredo Pierogi with Broccoli you'll need the following –
1 jar RAGÚ Family Size Cheese Creations Classic Alfredo Pasta Sauce (21.5 oz.)
1 box Potato and Onion Pierogi
1 bag Broccoli Florets
Fresh Parmesan shredded cheese (if desired)
This is a fairly quick and easy recipe that won't take more than 20 minutes from start to finish.
First, take a large pan and fill it halfway with water. Bring the water to a boil, then add the Pierogi and boil until tender. Should be about 5 minutes. Add the broccoli florets a few minutes after the Pierogis. They will need about 3 minutes to cook.
Add the broccoli florets a few minutes after the Pierogis. They will need about 3 minutes to cook.
Once the Pierogis and florets are tender, drain the water from the pan and return to the burner.
Add the Ragu family size cheese creations classic alfredo pasta sauce and bring to a simmer.
Serve with sprinkled parmesan cheese if desired. You can even add a crusty bread or toasted garlic bread.
It's a quick, simple, hearty meal sure to please the whole family. If your family is not fond of broccoli you can switch it out for a different vegetable like peas or carrots. Just be mindful as carrots will need more time to boil so you may need to boil them for a little while before adding the Pierogis to the water.
Ragu cheese creations classic alfredo sauce is packed full of Parmesan and Romano cheeses making this a rich, creamy meal. Besides using it to make my yummy creamy alfredo Pierogis you can also use it to make a creamy chicken alfredo! There are so many dishes you can make, starting with a can of Ragu.
Now, Ragu will only be on the BOGO from 10/5-10/11/2017 at your local Publix so be sure to head out and pick some up before the offer is gone.
