Looking for a healthy snack that has crunch, good flavor and possibly even a really nice crunch? Here you go. Crunchies Freeze-Dried Fruit Snacks are all that and, dare I say, “a bag of chips?”
My husband and I love to have a small bowl of chips as a snack while watching TV in the evenings after dinner. I would love to have a healthier option that still provides that crunch that chips do. These snacks fulfill that desire for me.
My kids (who love their junk food, too) were really excited when I laid these babies out before them. My oldest went straight for the Strawberry-Banana, which she liked, followed by the Cinnamon-Apple variety, which she Loved!
My personal favorite is the Grape variety. I just love grapes in general so after trying the Strawberry-Banana snacks I opened these and pretty much fell in love. I liked the Strawberry-Banana, too, but the tangy kick of the grapes was very satisfying.
I mean, look at these beauties!!! My younger daughter was with me 100% on how good the grape snacks were and she ended up eating about half the bag herself.
With approximately 3.5 servings in each bag and each serving only 40 calories, this is a delicious and guilt-free sweet craving buster. They are made with one simple ingredient — fresh fruit — and are advertised as being non-GMO, heart-healthy, vegan and gluten-free. How golden is that??? If there is a more perfect snack option on the market, I dare you to try to find it.
I set aside (unopened) the Mixed-Fruit and Pineapple snacks because I'm planning on including those bags in my annual Christmas gift basket for my Mom. I always do that for her and like to include things like books, mugs, specialty coffees, her favorite candies or snacks, beauty items, etc. She loves it. I know she will love these snacks, too!
These snacks are not only delicious, they are versatile, too. You can toss them into recipes to liven up the flavor or just add a touch of healthy to them. Items such as cookies, cakes, danishes, pancakes, and oatmeal come to mind as possibilities. You could possibly even add them to smoothies, though I haven't tried that, so go forth with that option at your own discretion.
