If you’re looking to move into one of the houses for rent in Houston, TX or have lived in the city for a bit and need something new to check out, dive bars are a great place to hang out with some friends on a Friday or Saturday night.

Dive bars provide that old-school bar feel with old-school bar prices, as well! Their drinks and bar snacks are usually priced lower than regular bars, but they will hit you just as strong.

Here’s a few dive bars you should visit in the Houston area.

1.) Blue Lagoon Club

You do not need to be a member to get into the first dive bar on this list. Located in northwest Houston, as long as you’re someone who likes a nice environment to drink in, you’ll be welcomed here.

With the iconic dimmed lights of a true dive bar, pool tables, and great drinks to be had, this bar makes a great hangout spot.

2.) Sunny’s

Our next dive bar is located in downtown Houston and has a lot of character. Sunny’s is a bar that’s perfect for a good drink at a good price, and they have a lot of those. Their specials are all around the $5 mark.

Sunny’s also has the entertainment factor with pool tables, TVs everywhere to watch the Texans and/or Astros games and live music from time to time.

3.) Rose Garden

If you’re looking for a bar that can almost feel like a second home (in a good way) to you, look no further than Rose Garden located in northern Houston.

This dive bar is well known for its wide variety of specialty drinks and cozy decor. You can also find lots of Elvis memorabilia and plenty of people on the dance floor! It is definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

4.) Neil’s Bahr

People who are down right nerds and geeks will definitely enjoy a night out at Neil’s Bahr. This dive bar features a lot of activities for anyone into the more nerdier side of life.

This bar features a lot of free arcade games that you can play with your friends or by yourself, a large collection of comic books and even karaoke! This is a great place to hang out and unwind with your friends.

Next time you’re in Houston checking out the city or after a long day at work, go visit one of these amazing dive bars.
