DIY Galentine’s Day Presents Your Friends Will Love

Every February 13th, women around the world celebrate Galentine’s Day. While it’s a relatively new holiday that owns creational credit to the popular comedy series Parks and Rec, people love to participate. It’s a day dedicated to women celebrating women and single ladies, a better alternative to the sometimes-depressing Valentine’s Day. If you’re celebrating for the first time or need some DIY ideas, we can help. Keep reading to learn about some Galentine’s Day presents your friends will love.

Household Items

Making home decor for your friends is a great way to spread love this Galentine’s Day. Two easy ideas for those who aren’t confident in their creative abilities are painted flowerpots and a wall painting.

For a painted flowerpot, you can buy a plain terra cotta planter and pick out the paint color(s) your friend(s) will love. Use a stencil or freehand whatever design you think they’ll like on the side of the planter.

Your wall painting follows similar steps to the flowerpot. Buy a canvas in any size you want and whatever paint colors you think your friends will enjoy. Paint whatever comes to mind when you think of your friends, from a realistic portrait of them to an abstract sunset.

Food Items

Galentine’s Day is a day for treats, and you can make your own this year. For your friends who like to sip on something sweet, you can make your own tea bags or hot chocolate bombs.

Making your own tea bags sounds complicated, but it’s not. All you need is coffee filters, a needle, thread, and tea. Sew two coffee filters together in whatever shape you want, although a heart is particularly appropriate. Leave a small hole that can fit a funnel. Pour loose-leaf tea down the funnel into the coffee filters. Then, sew the hole shut and add a string so that your friends don’t lose the tea bag in the cup.

For a hot chocolate bomb, spread melted chocolate inside a silicone mold. Once the chocolate solidifies, remove it and fill it with cocoa powder and anything else your friends will enjoy, such as sprinkles or marshmallows. Use melted chocolate to glue the chocolate molds together into a sealed hot chocolate bomb.

Pamper Items

Lastly, help your friends pamper themselves this Galentine’s Day. You can make them some aesthetic bath bombs or candles to jump-start the pampering process.

To make a bath bomb, you’ll need a mold, baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch, Epsom salt, and a skin-safe oil. If you want to make aesthetic bath bombs, you can add skin-safe colorants, dried flower petals, and other fun details. Mix them together, add them to the mold, and remove the bath bomb once it’s dry.

For DIY candles, choose a safe wax to melt, a mold, and a wick. You can add scents and other fun details, like pigment powder, or leave the candle plain. Melt the wax down and pour it into the mold. Then, add a wick and allow the candle to harden completely before removing and gifting.

Your friends will love these DIY Galentine’s Day presents that decorate their homes, taste delicious, and help them relax. For additional fun, host a Galentine’s Day party where you can make each other’s presents. Painting or cooking together allows everyone to participate in a fun activity and take home something special along with the fun memories.
