There are instances when the bubbling water might spill into the pot when boiling water. To avoid this, you can try placing a wooden spoon across the pot. This simple trick will help you save time cleaning spilled water off your stove.

Defrosting meat may take a long time and could even waste a lot of running water. Lucky for you, there's is an alternative solution to that problem. You can try placing the meat on an aluminum sheet tray or frying pan. You can also defrost soups or anything edibles refrigerated flat with this technique. 


  1. Foul Odor and Sink Blockage


Having a foul odor inside the kitchen is not an uncommon problem.  

Sink blockages caused by food residue are the source of these odors. To help you efficiently resolve this issue, try pouring a cup of baking soda and lemon juice into the sink and let it settle for 15 minutes. Afterward, add a cup of white vinegar and wait for bubbles. Once you see some bubbles, flush the sink with boiling water. To prevent more sink blockages, you can also use a sink strainer to stop food residue.
