Instead Of Staring At Your Screens, Learn Disc Golf And Involve The Kids!
Instead Of Staring At Their Screens, Get The Kids Involved In Disc Golf!
Learning a new sport can be challenging, however, the benefits outweigh any downsides. I know for me, just getting outside changes my mood and makes me feel great, especially when you involve the kids. That's why I am excited to learn more about the Kestrel Disc Golf Beginning Set. I've never actually played disc golf but I can't wait to learn. I've certainly done my research and it definitely sounds like lots of fun! Imagine the little ones playing outside in the sunshine instead of staring at their screens.
Apparently, disc golf has been around for quite a while now. I'm surprised that I'm just now learning about it. The game is all about having fun and being respectful to others and the park you decide to play in. The main objective of the game is to get your discs into the basket with the least amount of throws. As a beginner, you should concentrate on learning the game, then as you gather more skill you can get a little fancier with it.
There are three different types of discs that you will play with. The putter, mid-range, and driver discs. Gee, it sounds a little like golf, doesn't it? The putter is the easiest to control and throw, which is why if you're a beginner like me, that's what you should start with. The mid-range disc is a little more advanced, but beginners should still have good control of it, plus it glides very easily. Last but not least, the driver is one of the harder discs to use. This is for the more “pro's” of the game. It's very lightweight and takes much more skill. Learn the basics with the first two discs, then you can advance. Each course that you play on should have signs explaining the game and what the par for each “hole” is.
One of the wonderful things about disc golf is that anyone can play. From children to the elderly, you can learn this sport and enjoy playing outside!
Some of the great benefits of playing is being outside in the beautiful weather, bonding with your kids, meeting new people, and, of course, great exercise.
