Do you dislike the Caesar salad dressing available from your local grocery store? If so, all is not lost. That's because you can make your own dressing at home. What's more, if you're a vegan, you will love making this delicious eggless variety! Here's how to make it:
What you need
The first step involves assembling the ingredients you need to make your salad dressing. You will need the following items:
- Vegan soy sauce;
- Three chopped garlic cloves;
- One teaspoon of ground black pepper;
- 300 ml of lemon juice;
- One teaspoon of carrageenan powder;
- Two tablespoons of red wine vinegar;
- One tablespoon of mustard;
- 500 ml of extra virgin olive oil;
- 200 grams of vegan cheese.
Are you a vegetarian or vegan? If so, it's important you check each ingredient doesn't contain animal derivatives. The exception is for carrageenan, as it gets made from seaweeds (see below for more details).
How to make eggless Caesar salad dressing in one minute!
The beauty of this recipe is that it takes hardly any time at all to make. Why? Because all you need to do is add the ingredients into a mortar. You then use the pestle to “crush” everything and turn it all into that familiar liquidy paste!
Once you're done, you can then add some to a small bottle and sprinkle over your salad. Got some left over? You can store it for up to a week in your fridge. Of course, you could always let your friends sample some too!
