Maleficent is the story of Sleeping Beauty told from the point of view of Maleficent, played by Angelina Jolie and some creepy CGI cheekbones. Once upon a time, Maleficent was a sweet young girl with nifty wings and conveniently dead parents (since they named an infant “Maleficent”, I’m thinking they were no big loss). She falls in love with a whiny human who we loathe on sight. She thinks he’s a Loveable Rogue but it is instantly clear that he’s a Shiftless Bastard. He betrays her to become king of the humans, she vows vengeance, and the rest of the movie is Angelina Jolie being awesome.

When I was younger I loved to watch sleeping beauty and all the other princes movies. This is a lot different then that she falls for a guy who uses her just to become the king. And she gets her revenge on him. Something every woman would do. Use to pretend I was a princess waiting on my prince.

She soon discovers that when Aurora grows up, she is the only one who can restore the peace and happiness that everyone needs to get them out of the depression caused by revenge and war. This movie takes “Sleeping Beauty” and turns it into a completely different movie.

By far, this is the best Disney movie I've seen and one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while. Everything is just right. For example, the music sets the right mood in every scene. It is strong and loud when it needs to be and quite and shy at other times and, at certain points, it is playful and happy. It really pulls the whole movie together

Finally a Disney movie that didn't have “Prince Charming” coming in to save the girl and they live happy ever after! True love's kiss! They got that one right!
The story is beautifully captured with excellent special effects and a magical feel. The acting was very good. Angelina Jolie was a stand out as Maleficent and the rest of the cast turned in very good performances.

The movie is great we loved watching it as a family, great show case that it's not always happy ever after.
