When I was younger, I would buy products to care for myself without even thinking about what the products were made of. But, eventually, especially with the advent of the Internet, I learned that some products (actually, many products) were made with a lot of ingredients that I'd prefer not to put on/into my body. Today, I am much more selective in what I buy. I try to find safer products that I feel good using for myself and my family. One such line of products that I do trust and feel good about using is Upfront Cosmetics—more specifically, their Shampoo and Conditioner Bars.
I and my family have had the opportunity to use Upfront's shampoos and conditioners for awhile now and we really enjoy them. When I use Upfront, I don't have to worry about any secret chemicals because this is a company that likes to be “upfront” about what they use to create their products. And, according to the company's website, they do not use sulphates, parabens, nor synthetic fragrances in their products. And, they “pride (themselves) on sourcing the best possible ingredients” (taken from product website). Plus, no animal testing is performed in the making of their products. Universal Shampoo and Conditioner Bars
The Universal Shampoo and Conditioner have an invigorating and very pleasant scent of bergamot, cedarwood, and wintergreen. Both conditioner and shampoo help with providing hydration to the hair without weighing your hair down. The shampoo is safe for color-treated hair. And, this line is for all hair types (probably why it's named “universal”).
The Normal Shampoo
The Normal Shampoo is my most favorite of all. The company describes its scent as containing hints of rosemary, lavender, and lemon. All put together, to me, it smells like a beautiful Christmas tree (like pine) and I love it!!! This shampoo is non-irritating, gentle, and safe for color-treated hair. It's created for those with a normal hair type. Upfront created it to help protect your hair, while helping your hair to feel beautiful and soft.
Tea Tree Shampoo
I usually don't love tea tree scented products, but this one I do find quite pleasant. This shampoo is safe for all hair types and can be used for children and babies. It's for hydrating the hair and soothing the scalp and helping to prevent those annoying, embarrassing flakes.
Rosemary Mint Conditioner
The Rosemary Mint Conditioner Bar has an herbal and mint scent in just the right combination that they balance each other out. This conditioner provides hydration for normal to fine hair. The hydrating ability of this conditioner comes from ingredients, including shea butter and kokum butter.
Upfront Is Clean And Gets The Job Done
Upfront products are truly “cleaner” products! They clean your hair, they help keep your shower cleaner by keeping clutter down, and they keep our world clean by lessening the waste in our world (hint: recycle the box). And, each bar replaces up to between 2-3 bottles of shampoo or conditioner. So, really, they may even save you a trip to the grocery store because you won't run out of shampoo or conditioner so quickly.
I will give you the heads up that the lather from Upfront Shampoo may be a little subdued from what you're used to when using the usual shampoos on the market. However, it still does provide enough lather that helps ensure it is easy to apply and get the job done. The conditioner is also different in terms of how it spreads over your hair, but a little goes a long way and the end result is soft hair that is easily combed and without tangles. And, the scents of all their products are so lovely that I feel pampered when I use these products. After using their products, I also feel like my hair is truly clean and not weighed down with residues.
