Snacks and Coffee You Can Feel Good About

I have coffee every single morning.  My children have snacks every day.  First me.  I used to not drink coffee, but got in the habit with iced coffee during the summer and then when it changed to winter and iced coffee was not so practical anymore I switched over to hot and never ended up stopping.  I blame my single serve coffee maker because I would just never make a pot since one, I did not want to wait and two, I wouldn’t drink that much anyway so it just was never something I bothered doing.  But I am getting off the topic.  I love to drink my coffee in the morning. I also love supporting family owned businesses instead of big corporations.  I think the products are sometimes better tasting, and I feel like they really care about their customers and not so much on the almighty dollar.  Maybe I am wrong, but I like thinking that way so I will continue to believe that!

Community Coffee Company is a family-owned and operated coffee company. From French Roast to Breakfast Blend to Dark Roast, they have something for everyone.  Not to mention their coffee of the month (this month Pumpkin Praline) or flavored coffee like dark chocolate peppermint,  golden caramel, toasted hazelnut, and French vanilla just to name a few.  They even have half-caff which believe it or not I always have to have on hand because there are a few people who should not have too much caffeine but really do not like decaf so they use the half-caff.  Of course they also have the full decaffeinated.  The coffee is so smooth and delicious, and you can get it in whole bean or ground.  And while I do have one of those pods where I can add coffee to it for my own single-serve coffee, they do sell it in single serve.  Tea too!! They even have a Cash for Schools program that helps participating schools earn money by collecting UPC labels!

Now I have myself taken care of, and I need to find snacks for my children.  If it were up to them, they would eat cookies and chips and other junk but if I don’t keep it in the house, they cannot eat it.  Luckily, they can still eat their cookies with Emmy’s Organics.  They are eating cookies that taste delicious but I know they are healthy and even gluten-free, vegan, soy-free and grain-free and they all have 6g or less  sugar per serving.  They don’t need to know.  They are made with organic ingredients like fresh ginger and fair trade cacao powder and are coconut cookies that come in dark cacao, chocolate chip, peanut butter, lemon ginger, vanilla bean, and raspberry.

Luckily I have never had a problem with fruits and vegetables, they are eaten plenty and liked around here, but I know many whose children just would  not eat them so it would be a challenge for them to make sure they were getting their nutrients in.  Crunchies are freeze-dried snacks that can either be eaten right from the bag as a snack or even sprinkled on yogurt or oatmeal or in smoothies.  They come in flavors like strawberry banana, mango, blueberries, beets, and more. They have zero sugar added and are gluten-free, vegan, non-GMO, and kosher AND halal certified.  You couldn’t ask for a better snack if they refuse to eat fruit or veggies, or just throw it in their cereal in the morning (maybe even with those cereals with marshmallows in them already and really fool them!

Make sure everyone is taken care of, you with your coffee and your children with healthy snacks you can feel good about them eating!
