How to Play Baccarat and Win: Rules and Beginner’s Edition
Baccarat is an exhilarating game brimmed with thrill and mania. This is a famous card game played at both land-based and online casinos globally. A game where the players would bet on the total sum traded by the dealer, the player, and the banker’s hand. A set of players or two hands would go in to hit a total of nine, and the players would place a bet on whichever of them would attain the winning total initially. The player can also venture into betting a tie by resorting to skills gained throughout.
In Hungary, gambling in physical casinos has been legal in the country since 1991 and online gambling since 2013. It has been regulated by the National Tax and Administration of Hungary (NAV). It is controlled by the largest state-owned gambling service provider, Szerencsejáték Zrt, who takes control of all gambling activities both offline and online.
Unfortunately, only card games and casino games are allowed to be licensed for a online poker in Hungary. Betting, sports, and purchasing the lottery still need to be done in person. However, this is a big step from what the online arena for casinos and gambling looked like prior to 2013.

Rules of The Game
You don’t need to be editor-in-chief Peter Deli, an advocate and passionate player in online gambling, to understand Baccarat rules. You can view his profile here.
Baccarat is famous in both land-based and online casinos. The reason for the game to be so popular to players is because it allows almost the lowest house edge compared to the other casino games.
The main objective of the game is to pick a side (player or banker) and bet which side will be close to, if not equal to 9 and does not go over. Any number that goes beyond 9 will reset to 0. Then when you have a two-digit card score, the first digit is taken off. Take time to consider your answers – wagering is the only thing you can do in Baccarat, whether it is a high-stake or just play for fun money.
In some card games, Ace’s value is ranked the highest, but in Baccarat, its value is 1. Face cards (King, Queen, and Jack), on the other hand, are worth 0, while all other cards are worth according to their numbers respectively.
How to Play Baccarat?
When playing the game for the first time, remember that the dealer cannot take anything from your hand, and you must present your cash on the table for the dealer to collect and change it into chips. You can either choose sides and place your bet between the banker, the player, or the tie.
The Baccarat Bets
There are three types of bets that you can choose – the “Player,” the “Banker,” and the “Tie.” Figuring out these wagers is not difficult because they are named respectively. You can lay your chips on your chosen bets, and the dealer will call out “no more bets” before drawing the cards.
Banker Bet is highly known as the best option in waging your bet since it has a better chance of winning the game. If you bet on the banker’s hand and then win, you will receive an even payout of 1:1. However, the house will get 5% of the payout as commission every time the banker wins.
The Player bet is the second-best option that the Baccarat players have been opting for. It’s the house edge raves more than the ‘Tie’ but less advantageous and profitable than the ‘Banker.’ If the Player’s hand wins, you will also receive an even payout or 1:1 without the house getting a 5% commission.
The Tie bet is when the player places a bet on ‘Tie’ and believes that both the Player, and the Banker’s hands will have an equal value. Despite the ‘Tie’ bet having a higher payout, 8:1 and, in some instances, 9:1, which is more tempting than the remaining bets, oftentimes, the odds are slim. Hence, players tend to avoid taking this risk.
What is a Natural Win?
A natural win is when either the banker or the player’s side gets a card total of 8 or 9. In this situation, no other cards will be drawn. Whichever side gets an 8 or 9 wins, and the game is over.
When to Draw the Third Card?
A third card can be drawn by the dealer when neither sides have an 8 or 9 card score and depending on their totals.
Betting on Pairs
Another side bet in Baccarat is when you can also bet whether there will be a pair on the side of the banker or the side of the player. And if you guess it right, you will be paid 11:1.
Tips to Win Baccarat
Baccarat is known for its low house edge. However, the Tie bet somewhat makes it a little different due to its 14.4% house edge. Its 8:1 payout might entice you, but it is advised by Baccarat players to avoid it as its odds are slim. The Banker bet is popular amongst novice players and is recommended by pros because of its low edge of 1.06% – the reason why the house gets a 5% commission every banker-win. The Player bet, on the other hand, is also a good choice to place your bet on as it has a 1.26% house edge with no commission taken from each winning streak.
There is no secret pattern designed or cheat that you can utilize; you just need to simply understand and build up your chances through learning how Baccarat works and evading the chances of keeping the most common mistake.
