6 Ways to Spruce up Your Home’s Entrance

At the end of the day, first impressions matter, and your home’s front entry would be the first thing anyone notices when they see your house from across the street. I’ve discussed some tips and tricks to improve your home’s front entry, below. Let’s get to it.

Garage Door

Although you might not think it, your garage door plays a major role in how the front entry of your home looks. It’s one of the first things anyone notices about a house.

It might be time to repaint your garage door; it might not have been touched up in a while, so it’s full of muck and dirt.

If you feel like even with a new coat of paint, your garage door still won’t look that great, then you can shell out on a new one. Look through Pinterest and interior decorating magazines to see which garage door styles are currently in.

New Front Door

A new front door can help. There are hundreds of different entry door styles so choose yours wisely. Any entry doors guide would recommend that you go for a steel door. It would not only look good but be hard to break down too.

New Windows

Along with a new front door, you will benefit from new windows too. The two go hand-in-hand, so make sure they compliment each other. Worried about costs? If you live in Newmarket replacement windows are known to be quite affordable. Specifically buy from shops in the area.

Paint Your Exterior

Repaint the exterior of your home. Just like your garage door, it might be full of muck if you haven’t repainted it in a while.

Make sure you choose a color that goes with the inside of your house. A pro tip would be to choose a paint that reflects sunlight. This would prevent your house from warming up too much, so you’d save on electricity.

Create an outdoor Living Area

One of the best things you could do is include an outdoor living space in your yard. This will not only make your home look better, but the value of your property would rise as well. Just so you know, you don’t need a large patio if you’re strapped for space. Be wise with the furniture you choose, though.

Add a Walkway

Don’t have a stone walkway? It might be time to splurge on one. Yes, this is one of the more expensive suggestions on my list. However, it would be well worth it. Make sure you stone the stairs that lead up to your home as well.

So, what do you think of everything discussed? There are quite a few points to consider when trying to improve your home’s front entry. From the list, the easiest would be to touch up your house’s exterior and garage doors. They may be full of muck and stains. Creating an outdoor living space would be a good idea as well. If you don’t have that much patio for a space, this doesn’t matter.
