The 7 Best Laptops Fit For Your Needs

The best laptops in the world right now are fantastic machines. They combine powerful processors and graphics chips with sharp, colorful displays and comfortable keyboards into a single mobile package that can handle just about any task you throw at it. So whether you're looking for a great value to get work done, or a powerful machine to play games on the road, this list of our favorite laptops has something for everyone.

But what are the best laptops in 2022? That depends on your needs. If you're looking for more than just a laptop, we've also rounded up our favorite 2-in-1s, ultraportables and budget PCs alongside our top picks. And if you're unsure what kind of laptop you need.

Asus ZenBook 13 UX333.

The Asus ZenBook 13 UX333 offers impressive performance, lasting battery life and a backlit keyboard in an extremely portable package. It also comes with a stylish design that's even lighter than the previous model, though you'll have to give up some screen brightness.

HP Spectre x360.

HP's Spectre x360 offers great overall performance for a premium 2-in-1 laptop at a comfortable price point. Its aluminum chassis looks good and feels durable, along with delivering more than 9 hours of battery life on a charge. We just wish it were brighter.

Acer Nitro 5.

Budget gaming laptops are getting better all the time and Acer's Nitro 5 gives you solid performance for $700 or less. You can also get this rig with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 GPU for just $699 if you don't need too much power and RAM. Plus, this compact rig has a respectable battery life and RGB lighting to boot.

Apple MacBook Air

The MacBook Air 13-inch has been my go-to recommendation for the past few years for anyone looking for a laptop that will handle most day-to-day tasks. It's light and portable, has a great keyboard, display and trackpad, and it's priced competitively. But this should not make you worry if you don't want to break your bank savings, Shop Abunda offers MacBook financing on light and easy terms.

However, the Air has been in need of an update for a while now. It hasn't seen a significant update since early 2015, which is practically an eon in laptop years. To make matters worse, its 2015 processor (and Intel HD 6000 graphics) is even starting to show its age against newer systems with Intel's Kaby Lake chips.

With an updated processor, battery life and display, Apple's MacBook Air (2017) is still a good choice if you need a cheap Mac that can run macOS Sierra without issue or if you just like the feel of typing on a MacBook Air keyboard. But at $999 ($899 in the U.K.), the new MacBook Air won't be your only option anymore: At the same price point you can get the Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1 (Kaby Lake), which offers much more performance and flexibility than the Air does.

Huawei MateBook X Pro

The MateBook X Pro's screen is a 13.9-inch touchscreen with 3,000 x 2,000 resolution, which looks fantastic. The LTPS LCD panel has a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio and minimal bezels along the sides and top of the screen.

The MateBook X Pro has a single USB-C port on either side of the device. One side includes a USB-C port that supports charging or power output for connecting to external monitors or other devices (up to 3,000 mAh). The other side has a USB-C port that supports data transfer and audio out. The MateBook X Pro also includes a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, which is located on the same side as the audio out port.

We also tried installing Snap Camera from Snap Inc., which lets you use Snapchat Lenses with your computer's webcam. The app works as expected, but it would be great if Huawei could include some sort of built-in functionality to use Lenses with the camera in future MateBook models.

The Huawei MateBook X Pro ($1,199) offers plenty of power in an elegant chassis that feels as premium as any MacBook. It also boasts a gorgeous high-resolution display and long battery life.

Asus ZenBook Flip UX360CA

The Asus ZenBook Flip UX360CA is a great laptop that's only let down by its battery.

Asus has made some of our favourite laptops of the past few years, and it's back with another winner. This time, it's the Asus ZenBook Flip UX360CA. It's a convertible 2-in-1 laptop, which means you can flip the screen around and use it as a tablet — or fold it into a “tent” to watch movies or presentations.

This is a slim, lightweight laptop that's well designed and extremely portable. It looks great, too. The combination of metal and glass materials makes for something that looks like an expensive device even though it isn't.

Acer Swift 3

Acer Swift 3 is one of the best laptops you can buy today. It's not only one of the most powerful laptops around but also comes with a sleek design and a competitive price tag.

More importantly, it has an all-metal body, which fits comfortably in your hands and feels sturdy to hold.

The display is bright, but it doesn't get very loud and its battery life is longer than expected.
