We all have a purpose in life, but we often don't know exactly what it is. Often our purpose differs from what we set out to do. So we compiled these 9 tips, so that you will clarify your purpose and find the reason why you are alive.
1. Set goals for you
We all have some kind of goal-setting process going on at any given time. But for many people, that process is often haphazard and superficial. We might set a goal based on a whim, or because someone asked us to do something, or because it just seems like a good idea at the time.
But when we set goals in this way, they're rarely very meaningful to us or helpful in our lives. They're just things to check off our list so we can feel better about ourselves.
When you set meaningful goals — ones that reflect who you really are as a person and what matters most to you — then it's easier to find meaning in life. You'll stop feeling like your life is just about getting through each day and start feeling more like you're living it intentionally and purposefully instead.
2. Make a plan
If you don't know what you want out of life, or if you haven't thought about it at all yet, then now is the time to start making a plan. Planning will help clarify your purpose and find meaning in life.
When we think about our lives, we often focus on things like getting a good job and making money but these things aren't enough to bring us happiness and fulfillment.
So, making a plan helps us get more clarity on what we want, what matters most and what will bring us joy and happiness. It allows us to identify our values, strengths, weaknesses and goals so that we can take steps towards achieving them. This process actually stimulates dopamine production which helps us feel more motivated and happy!
Once we have an idea about these things, then we can start thinking about how best to use them in order to get closer towards achieving our goals within each area (e.g., career/financial stability).
3. Take action
The most important thing you can do when you feel like your life lacks meaning is to take action. Most people who are unhappy with their lives are not taking enough action. They are not doing what they need to do to get what they want out of life.
So they end up achieving nothing. Contrary, when you take action towards achieving your goals, the meaning in your life will start coming together for you. You'll find yourself accomplishing more than ever before and that alone will make you feel great about yourself and about where your life is going.
So if you're like most people who don't take action because you think nothing works well, still take action because who knows what will happen tomorrow.
4. Do something that scares you every day
It may sound counterintuitive, but when you push yourself to do things outside of your comfort zone, it not only helps you build confidence and resilience, but also gives you a greater sense of purpose and meaning in life.
When we think about our lives and what we want out of them, there's often a lot of focus on what we want to avoid: things like pain and failure. But if we're always focusing on avoiding those things, then how will we ever get what we truly want? It's important to take action even when it makes us uncomfortable or uncertain because that's where growth happens.
What are some ways you can do something scary today? It could be as simple as doing what you fear the most or starting a conversation with someone new at work—or it could be something bigger like taking up an activity that requires physical strength or mental agility (or both!). The possibilities are endless!
5. Learn to say no
Many of us have trouble saying no, but it's crucial that we learn how to do so well. We often feel pressure from those around us—family and friends, coworkers, even strangers—to do things that we don't want to do. This can be especially true when the person who is asking you for something has power over you in some way: they are older than you, a superior at work, or someone with authority over a situation that affects your life.
But as we become adults, we need to start making decisions based on what's best for us rather than what other people tell us is best for them. That’s why you should say no firmly but politely, with respect for the person who asked but without guilt or fear about disappointing them.
This is because by saying no, you're creating boundaries for yourself and allowing yourself more time to focus on what matters most to you. You'll also feel less stressed because there will be less pressure from other people who want something from you but don't necessarily understand how much work goes into getting things done properly.
6. Learn from failure, not success
Failure is inevitable—we fail at things every day. But we can learn from our failures, and in fact it's often the best way to figure out what we're truly meant to be doing with our lives.
Your purpose is not a checklist of things you've achieved. In fact, it's a feeling you get when you've found something that really matters to you, and have dedicated yourself to it wholeheartedly. To find that feeling, we have to be willing to take risks and make mistakes, because if we don't try anything new, we'll never learn what we're capable of.
We all want to feel like our lives matter. But it's hard to know how much value other people place on our work, especially when so many people focus on money and status instead of meaning or contribution. This kind of perspective only makes us more likely to doubt ourselves and our abilities—which means we're less likely to take chances that could lead us toward fulfillment.

7. Live in the present moment
Living in the present moment means that you're aware of what's going on around you, including your thoughts and emotions. You're not dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. Instead, you're focused on what's happening right now.
This awareness is important because it helps us make better decisions because we're able to assess things more accurately than when we're dwelling on something else (such as our past mistakes).
More importantly, living in the present moment also helps us appreciate what we have right now because we're not focused on what we don't have or what could be better tomorrow. And gratefulness is one of the best ways to experience joy!
8. Embrace change and uncertainty
Sometimes, in order to find purpose in life, we have to be willing to embrace change and uncertainty. There will always be times when you feel like you're on the verge of losing control over your life—but that's actually a good thing. It means that something new is about to happen!
Aside from that, when you're able to embrace uncertainty, you're showing yourself that you have the courage to face challenges head-on. That kind of fearlessness can be incredibly empowering—and it's also an important skill for anyone who wants to succeed in business or life. When you know how to deal with change, you'll always be able to adapt to new situations and take advantage of opportunities when they arise as well.
9. Live with intention and not just by default.
This is a very important concept to remember when you're trying to find meaning in life. If you don't have a clear purpose, it's easy to just fall into the routine of daily life without much thought or meaning behind it. You need to be intentional about what you do every day—not just because you have to do it, but because it means something to you.
When you live with intention, you can start to see how each part of your life connects with other parts of your life, and how they contribute to your overall happiness and fulfillment.
